What is Linktree?

Linktree is a link-in-bio tool: one page at linktr.ee/yourname that holds your links, products and content, so a single link in your Instagram or TikTok bio can point to all of it. Here is what each plan includes, what it costs and where it falls short.

Linktree is a link-in-bio tool. You build one page at linktr.ee/yourname with your links, products and content on it, and put that one address in your Instagram, TikTok or YouTube bio. Linktree describes it in its own help centre as a single customisable page for your links, products and content. It has a free plan and three paid ones, Starter, Pro and Premium, and in the last couple of years it has added selling, email and phone signups, and Instagram auto-replies on top of the page itself.

Below is what the product does, what each plan includes, what it costs, and when it is and isn't the right pick. Every fact comes from Linktree's own pricing page and help centre, checked on 21 Oct 2026; the links are at the foot of the page.

What Linktree does

Instagram gives you one clickable link in your bio, and only a handful of extra link slots. A link-in-bio page gets around that: the bio link opens a small mobile page with as many buttons as you like. Linktree was the tool that made this pattern common. Its about page says it was founded in Melbourne, Australia in 2016 by Alex Zaccaria, Anthony Zaccaria and Nick Humphreys, and that more than 70 million people use it.

Today a Linktree page can hold:

  • Links, as plain buttons or with thumbnails, plus featured links on paid plans.
  • Embeds, such as YouTube videos, music pre-saves and RSS previews (Pro and up).
  • Signups: email and phone numbers, with integrations to Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Kit and Google Sheets on Pro.
  • Products: digital products and paid courses on Pro and Premium, in the countries where selling is supported.
  • Instagram auto-reply: a DM with a link sent to people who comment on a chosen post or reel.

Linktree plans and pricing

Linktree shows prices in your local currency, and they vary by region. The figures below are what the pricing page showed us from the UK on 21 Oct 2026, in pounds. US visitors see dollar prices on the same page, which we could not load directly, so check linktr.ee/s/pricing for yours.

On selling, Linktree's help centre says its own fee is a percentage of each sale that depends on your plan, and the pricing page advertises 0% on Pro. Stripe's processing fee, 2.9% + $0.30 per purchase, applies on every plan. Selling digital products is listed as a Pro and Premium feature.

The limits that differ by plan

Two limits matter most for Instagram creators, and Linktree publishes both in its help centre:

The auto-reply has its own plan rules too. Every plan can trigger on one specific post or reel. Triggering on all posts, or on the next post you publish, needs Pro or Premium, and so does smart matching, which catches misspellings of your keyword. Linktree's help article says auto-replies only work with public Instagram accounts. Free pages also show ads, which Starter removes.

Who Linktree suits

  • Anyone who wants the default. It is the most recognised link-in-bio address, and people know what a linktr.ee link is.
  • Creators on several platforms, since one page works from any bio.
  • People selling a few digital products who don't want a separate store, provided they are on Pro or Premium in a supported country.
  • Teams on Premium, which adds admins who can help manage the page.

Where Linktree falls short

  • The useful parts sit on Pro. Removing the Linktree logo, custom backgrounds, selling, and mailing-list integrations are Pro features, not Starter ones.
  • Analytics history is short at the low end: 28 days on Free and 90 on Starter.
  • Auto-replies are capped below Premium. A reel that pulls 3,000 comments in a month passes the Pro limit of 2,500.
  • The page and the DMs are separate tools. The auto-reply sends people a link from a comment; the page itself can't start a DM.
  • Custom domains aren't listed among the plan features on the pages we read, so if you want the page on your own domain, ask Linktree before you buy.

Alternatives worth a look

If you sell courses or coaching, Stan Store and Beacons put the store first. If you want a small website rather than a list of buttons, Carrd is cheap and flexible. If you came from Bento, read what happened to Bento. We compare all of them for Instagram in Linktree alternatives for Instagram.
