X (Twitter) bold text

Write a post for X, bold or italicise selected words, and see the count the way X weighs it, before you copy the post.

82 / 280 (counted the way X counts)

Select words, then pick a style. With nothing selected, the word at the cursor is styled.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you type or upload is sent anywhere.

X doesn't format posts for most accounts, so bold Unicode letters do the job. The catch is the count: X weighs many styled letters as two characters, so a bold word can cost twice what it looks like.

The count here follows X's own weighting, with links counted as 23 whatever their length.

Questions about x (twitter) bold text

Anything else, write to support@cuedm.com.

Why is the count higher than the characters I see?
X weighs characters outside the common Latin ranges as two, and that includes most styled letters and every emoji.
Can everyone read styled text?
Most people see it, but screen readers often read these letters one at a time, and search inside the app may not match them. Keep the words people search for plain.
